Dr. James L. Nelson Jr. is a podiatrist who has been in practice in the Lubbock area since 1966.

Dr. Nelson completed his Pre Medical studies at Texas Tech University and then completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Illinois College of Podiatry.

He has been treating foot disorders from the common to the complex. Podiatric medicine is a unique branch of medicine that deals with the medical and surgical management of the foot and its related disorders. Podiatry is one of the earliest medical professions having evolved from the days of Chiropody to the well-trained, highly respected Podiatrist.

Podiatrists are educated in such areas as: Orthopedics, Dermatology, Radiology and Surgery as they relate to the foot. Many Podiatrists offer specialization in such fields as Sports Medicine, Geriatrics and Pediatrics. Dr. Nelson is skilled in and performs many different procedures to better serve the Lubbock and surrounding communities. Some of these include: bunionectomies, planter fasciitis, ingrown toenails, planter warts and many others.

Dr. Nelson strives to give his patients the best possible care, and is constantly learning the latest and most up-to-date technology to serve you better.

He is very involved with the podiatric community and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the Texas Podiatric Medical Association where he served as President.

In his spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his three grand children. We look forward to welcoming you to our office.
